Heather Howe
Heather started singing at an early age in her school choir and appeared in many shows for Chatsworth Musical Society as well as being musical director for their performance of Pajama Game. She has won prizes for singing at the Derby Festival. She has also appeared with Derby Opera Company and performs regularly as a member of her folk group 'Tumbleholme'. One of her most memorable experiences was singing at The Royal Albert Hall with stars from the West End for NODA's centenary celebrations. Married to Jeff, Heather has two sons and works as a secretary at a local school. Heather is our Vice Chair on the Main Committee.

Hobbies: Playing the piano, folk singing and spending time on our narrow boat
Favourite Music: Some classical music
Most wanted to play: Eliza Dolittle and the Merry Widow, both of which I’ve had the good fortune to play
First job: Personal secretary in the Human Morphology (Anatomy) Dept at the QMC – when it was little more than a shed
First ever record: "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison, I used to play it constantly on the record player in my Mum's front room
Favourite film: I tend to like films with lots of special effects but especially like Brief Encounter – it makes me cry every time
Interesting story: When I worked in Anatomy Dept we used to keep the party food for the Christmas party in the Mortuary - nice! Nominated for an award at Buxton Fringe in 2006 with Aitone Early Music Group
