Since its inception in 2009, the award-winning Erewash Musical Youth Group (EMUS) has become a vibrant and essential part of the local musical theatre scene. With a string of sell-out productions and rave reviews, EMUS has earned a reputation for excellence and a commitment to providing young people with exceptional opportunities to develop their theatrical talents.

EMUS productions are incredibly diverse, ranging from classic musicals like “Annie Get Your Gun” and “West Side Story” to modern favorites such as “Into the Woods Jnr” and “Legally Blonde.” This variety allows our young performers to explore different styles, genres, and characters, broadening their theatrical horizons and challenging them to grow as artists.

At EMUS, we believe in nurturing young talent both on and off stage. Our society not only provides a platform for young performers to shine but also offers opportunities for aspiring directors, choreographers, and musical directors to gain valuable experience working alongside our enthusiastic and dedicated group. This collaborative environment fosters a sense of community and mentorship, ensuring that the future of musical theatre is in good hands.

We are incredibly proud of all our young people, who share a common passion – a dedication and commitment to perform to the very best of their individual abilities. EMUS is more than just a theatre group; it’s a place where friendships are forged, confidence is built, and dreams are realised.

Many of our EMUS graduates have gone on to study at prestigious drama schools and universities, pursuing their dreams of careers in the performing arts. We feel extraordinarily privileged to have played a small part in their journeys, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they needed to succeed.

EMUS is open to all young people aged 11-18 who share a love of musical theatre. Whether you’re an experienced performer or just starting out, we welcome you to join our vibrant and supportive community.

If you’re interested in joining EMUS, please complete the contact form on our website, and someone will be in touch with you. We look forward to welcoming you to our next show and sharing our passion for musical theatre with you.
